MOOSE JAW PROVINCIAL DANCE FESTIVAL RESULTS

Students from the Drewitz School Of Dance, under the direction of Lorie-Gay Drewitz-Gallaway, ARAD participated in this years Golden Anniversary annual Dance Festival. The competition took place May 1-5th at the Peacock Auditorium in Moose Jaw. Competitors from Lethbridge, Saskatoon, Regina, Yorkton, Moose Jaw and area all competed.

Adjudicators were Mercedes Ellington, (Tap and Broadway) from New York, Dennis Lue (Ballet) from New York, and Nancy King (Jazz Lyrical, Hip Hop) from New Jersey. Students receiving Gold (1st place), Silver (2nd place) and Bronze (3rd place) are as follows:

TAP EVENTS:

• Novice Tap Solo - 7 yrs - Reese Handley - 3rd place

Major Award Winners are as follows:

• Kourtney Kobitz was awarded the Dance Images by B.J. Scholarship of $25.00 for highest mark, Novice Character Solo.
• Hunter Hildebrand was awarded the Friends Of The Festival Trophy for highest mark character solo 11 and 12 years.
• Hunter Hildebrand was also awarded the Folgizans Agency Scholarship of $25.00 for the highest mark inn Character Solo, 6-11 years.
• Ricki and Teagan Graham were awarded the Denee School Of Dance Trophy for highest mark Character Duo/Trio class all ages.
• Ricki and Teagan Graham were also awarded the Friends of the Festival Scholarship of $100.00 for highest mark Character Duo/Trio in the festival.
• Teagan Graham was awarded the Bonanza Family Scholarship of $50.00 for Classical Ballet Soft Slipper ages 11-14 years, adjudicators choice.
• Gabrielle, Rachel and Renee Stephany received the Ethol Johnson Award for the highest mark in Demi-Character Duo/Trio 5-10 years.
• Kirstie Yergens was awarded the Dance Images by BJ Summer School Scholarship for full tuition, $250.00, awarded for a solo performer in tap, jazz, or lyrical, adjudicators choice.
• Brie McClement was awarded the Moose Jaw Festival Of Dance Scholarship of $300.00 for the most outstanding solo performer in the festival, who had performed three solos, Ballet, Tap, and Lyrical /Jazz, adjudicators choice.
